Hello there, my name is Vivien Richardson and I’m a New Zealand Registered Psychologist based in Wellington.
IF YOU ARE IN IMMEDIATE DANGER OF HURTING YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE, CALL 111 or phone or text 7313 for free and immediate help. Coda Psychology is NOT an emergency crisis service.
NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS
If you feel you’re not quite on top of your mental wellness, you’re far from alone.
47% of New Zealanders will experience a mental illness and/or an addiction during their lifetime, with one in five people affected in a given year (Source: Ministry of Health, 2006).
I’ve seen how mental health issues affect people from all walks of life, and even have people in my own family who’ve experienced mental ill-health.
In my psychology practice, I offer mental health advice, assessment and treatment for ages 16 and up.
I can help with all common mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), other adjustment disorders, grief, bereavement, end of life issues and other general mental health concerns.
Previously a nurse and midwife, I have a lifetime of experience caring for people at all developmental stages. We’ll work together to ensure you have all the techniques you need to manage your mental wellbeing, and live your best, most fulfilling life.
My goal is to help you gain insight into your thoughts and feelings, and equip you with simple techniques to help you manage your mental wellbeing.
For your first appointment, I’ll organise an assessment with you to talk about what you feel you need, and together we’ll decide a meaningful path forward.
Some people may need only one assessment and two or three further appointments. Other people may be looking for more long-standing therapy, with six to twelve sessions or more.
